Dominique Mufraggi was born in 1958. Hegraduated from the Ecole Boulle in 1978 with a degree in intaglio engraving, and turned his attention to volume, modeling and dinanderie. Always in search of the best plastic expression of the living, his style is quickly recognized by many of the Place Vendôme houses, with whom he works exclusively, in particular Cartier for over 25 years, Dior and Boucheron. His talent and aesthetic vision, particularly in the field of animals, were often called upon by these Houses to contribute to a large number of high jewelry and luxury object projects.

In the early 2000s, Dominique Mufraggi also briefly worked a brief stint in the world of para-BD to diversify his experience of motifs and volumes. Quickly identified in the milieu, his sculptures were quickly exhibited and sold, and he collaborated extensively with famous cartoonists such as Gotlib, Druillet, Bourgeon, Boucq and Godon.

Dominique Mufraggi's passion for the plasticity of the living world, his quest for perfection and style, and his influence on the excellence and quality of finish of the Maisons de la Place Vendôme, lead him to create works in a deliberately classic contemporary style.

His desire to "break with classic bronzes" and make them "not just metal" has led him to propose innovative sculptures, where bronze is not just bronze and the base is not just a base. It's a harmonious assemblage, carefully thought out and crafted, a synthesis of classic and design, where no stage of creation has been left to chance.

His works are inspired by the smooth, taut surfaces of Tamara de Lempicka's paintings or Gaudi's buildings, by the openwork of bronze creating lightness in certain sculptures by Edouard Marcel Sandoz, and by the depth and transparency of metal found in Lalique's plique-à-jour.

Inevitably influenced by his work in the world of haute joaillerie, his work reflects the search for a harmonious resonance between metal and mineral, but this time the mineral enhances the metal!
