The boat "Les vestiges du voyage" seems to have stood the test of time, bearing the traces of a distant voyage. Its rough, almost bare structure reveals the ribs of a boat marked by wear but rich in symbols. The richness of the glazes - celadons, iron red, temmoku, and enriched with titanium - offer hues of greens, browns and golden yellows, and evoke the deposits left by the sea and the elements, while irregular details recall the remains of a forgotten cargo. This work invites us to explore the narratives that objects carry through time.

Jean-Claude Canonne's glazed stoneware boats, part of a series in which the symbolism of travel and memory predominates, illustrate the encounter between technical mastery and visual poetry. Each creation, while sharing a common language in its structure and details, expresses a singular vision, inspired by a variety of maritime cultures. The richly textured enameling and sculpted elements reveal a universe that is both mineral and organic, paying homage to time, water and human stories.

These boats, each unique in its expression, dialogue around the universal themes of time, memory and displacement. They testify to Jean-Claude Canonne's ability to transcend material to tell stories in which land, water and humanity intertwine.
