Dos du Vent 1

A 70 cm sculpture with a majestic verticality. Inspired by a powerful mineral landscape, it evokes a massif sculpted by the elements, where winds rush in and trees cling to the rocky flanks. The surface is composed of multiple layers of enamels - iron red, celadon, shino, and copper red enriched with cobalt and titanium - applied with a variety of techniques (sgraffito, brush, fingers, etc.), creating textures that recall both the roughness of the rocks and the luxuriant vegetation that takes root there. Golden touches, the fruit of alchemical enameling, add luminous accents, recalling the sun's rays filtering through the mists.

Trilogie des Montagnes - Between emergence and minerality

These glazed stoneware sculptures, fired in a reducing atmosphere at 1300°C, from the "Hautes Brumes" series, embody Jean-Claude Canonne's vision of recreating the genesis of mountains in all their power and beauty. Through inspired enameling and modeling, he reinvents the processes of mineral and geological formation, like an echo of the telluric forces and volcanic eruptions that shape the relief.
These three sculptures, united by their inspiration but distinct in their expression, bear witness to Jean-Claude Canonne's technical mastery and artistic vision, offering a poetic and powerful exploration of the mineral world.
