"The patina paintings are inspired by the traditional Japanese painting known as "Ukiyo-e" (such as the Great Wave of Kanagawa). Typical Ukiyo-e motifs, peonies and waves, were used to patinate the metal. Each motif was worked by chamfering the contours of each part to bring out the original color of the brass, emphasizing the characteristic flatness of traditional Japanese painting, Ukiyo-e and manga, all combined with the metal patina technique I developed."
